Stress and How it Starts from the Top Down

Stress.jpeg
After another fun filled, but hectic dental convention I returned home last night from Chicago. This meeting was a little bit different for me because at this one, my partner Kelly and I had the staff come along.
We make a conscious effort to do things differently at Flucke & Suchman dentistry. We pride ourselves on (as expected) using a wide variety of the best and most recent cutting edge equipment and techniques, but we also work towards a culture that is second to none in the industry.
The culture is centered on the concept of loving what you do. We want team members that laugh, love life, and love what they do. The concept of "quiet & scary" dentistry may apply in lots of other p laces, but it certainly doesn't apply here. I love the people that I work with and i want them to love coming in each and every morning. I want them to be as excited to get to the office as I am and I want their passion to be as centered on the patient as humanly possible.
I've always felt that way, but this afternoon I read an article on how bad attitudes from your bosses can create an entire of culture dreading to go to the office. I *never* want that to be the way my employees feel and hopefully my patients notice it. "Love what you do and you will never work" is a motto that I lively professional life by. Hopefully those around me feel the same.
